| Customer Reviews: Thorough and Detailed April 25, 2010 chemicaloliver (Pontefract, UK) So far in review this book has been criticised for being boring and bloated. I take a different look at it.
This is my first book on SEO, previously I just knew the basics of good web design. When reading computer books I tend to read the chapters that are most appropriate and then use it for reference and this book is ideal for that - it gives introductions to everything relevant and then goes into great depth on analysis of your SEO so is ideal as an introduction for a technically minded person and then useful to refer to later. A great buy.
And yes, SEO isn't the most exciting topic but I prefer substance over style if I have to make the choice and this book definitely delivers substance and lots of it!
Bloated and unoriginal. December 9, 2009 Justin Taylor (Sydney) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
If you are new to SEO, I mean really new, then SEO Warrior is probably an ok place to start. If on the other hand you already employ SEO tactics, have read any other SEO books or done some research on the web then this book will provide little for you.
Most SEO books are bloated with filler content and this book certainly fits that description. While SEO is closely related to other topics such as search engine marketing, nobody buys a book on SEO to learn about pay per click advertising for example. Related yes, does it help with SEO, no.
Reading turned to skimming after the first few chapters when it was clear there were no real nuggets here. Simply a rehash of well known ideas and SEO community general knowledge.
Yawn Snore what a bore... March 24, 2010 Mr. M. C. Murphy (England) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Yes I know it's not the kind of topic to get your juices running, but hey, you could expect a little more than this boring businessman indulging himself in the sound of his own voice. As another reviewer pointed out, it's chock full of stuff you really don't need to know and an overbearing need to invent words to describe simplicity. Typical businessworld tripe, inventing stuff to make it look like they're all really working hard while some sweaty guy is fixing the road outside.
You can do more for you SEO creating content that has something to do with what your website is about and doing a good job on your tags, maybe going as far as having a blog...
You really only need to read the first couple of obvious chapters if like me you're a beginner.
